Soon after graduating from the renowned Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland with Bachelor of Arts degree in hospitality and marketing management, Filipino-Norwegian Markki Stroem became a finalist in ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1.

Markki Stroem is widely known for his roles in Slumber Party, 10,000 Hours, and Halik sa hangin. His skills have earned him a series of awards, including Best Breakthrough Performance by an Actor (Golden Screen Awards), Best Breakthrough Actor (Gawad Tangi) and New Movie Actor of the Year (PMPC Star Awards for Movies) for Slumber Party. Even more impressively, 10,000 Hours, his 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, garnered 14 awards at the MMFF Awards, including best movie for the 39th annual Metro Manila Film Festival.

In addition to acting, Markki Stroem is also a singer, songwriter, arranger, and music video director/producer. He produced and directed music videos such as: Rachelle Ann Go’s “Whispered Fear”, Christian Bautista and Neocolours’ “Sasabihin” and Noel Cabangon’s “Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka’. Aside from that, his own singles “Steal Your Soul” and “Thousands of Pieces” gained outstanding response on the MYX charts. A true Renaissance man, indeed.

Talented inside and out, Markki Stroem has starred in many films, including Slumber Party, Can We Still Be Friends, and I Love You, Hater, in which he also plays a gay man. Most notably, of course, is his role in the recent Unlocked, in which he goes full naked! Fans have no doubt been feasting their eyes with the episode's scenes since its release.

Unlocked is an anthology series consisting of 6 episodes following the stories of people forced to stay at home due to the global pandemic, and how they face themselves, their lovers, and loneliness. The first episode centers on Andrew (Markki Stroem), a gay man who has just broken up with his long-term boyfriend Zeph (Ardel Presentacion). Overwhelmed by depression, the man buries himself in work while at the same time looking for new dates on dating apps. One lonely night, Andrew meets up with Brix (Mike Liwag). As the two grow fond of each other, Andrew realizes that he is not yet over Zeph. Between love and lust, what is he to choose?
