Starring as the teenage boy in Undercurrent is Leo Huang, the fresh face that is the subject of this article. A graduate of Taichung First Senior High School and National Chengchi University, he made his debut in the 2016 short film Beat Him Up, for which he won Best Lead Actor in a Short Foreign Language Film at the Madrid International Film Festival. The same year, he collaborated with web media company PopDaily on a series of love stories, and also spent some time working on student films.
