The first edition of the LGBT+ Film Festival Bangkok will take place this week (3-8 July 2018) at Bangkok Screening Room.
The LGBT+ Film Festival will explore the diverse facets of the community through films, special events, talks, and live performances and a special art exhibition. “It is going to be a safe place for discussions about important issues, such as marriage equality and equal opportunity”, the organization assured. The festival is aiming to bring the LGBT+ community and the world together to celebrate diversity, creativity and strength.
Among the selected films for this year we find the highly anticipated Academy Award nominated BPM (Robin Campillo, 2017) about an AIDS activist group in 1990s Paris, the classic drag feature The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Stephan Elliott, 1994), or the Taiwanese-Filipino co-production Tale of the Lost Boys (Joselito Altarejos, 2017). In addition, they will bring some films never screened before in Thailand such as the biopic Tom of Finland (Dome Karukoski, 2017) and the documentary The Queen of Ireland (Conor Horgan, 2015).
