In the age of streaming, any popular show could grant you fifteen minutes of fame. But to have a following, skill is as important as looks, and nobody is combining these two better than Jae-Sang Yoo, a millennial actor who’s making a name of himself through solid acting.

27-year-old Jae-Sang Yoo is 183 cm but has an adorkable look, making him a young, baby face, hunk. In comparison to other Korean stars, he has not the looks of an instant-fan-magnet, yet after he first made it to the big screen in 2016 through 4th Place, playing Kwang-soo, a genius swimmer. He was awarded Best New Actor in both the 53rd Grand Bell Awards and the Korean Annual film-awards, making a name for himself. In 2019, he played a part in “When the Camellia Blooms”, and then he appeared on the Netflix original series “Love Alarm” which catapulted him to global fame.

Other than that, what really established Jae-Sang Yoo as a skilled-actor was the film The Poet and the Boy. Thanks to his role as the-handsome-boy-next-door, Jae-Sang Yoo was nominated in both the Chunsa Film Art Awards and the Grand Bell Awards. The Poet and the Boy tells the story of a 40-year-old poet (played by Yang Ik-Joon) who meets a sunny, handsome young man (Jae-Sang Yoo). Attracted to him, the Poet starts to pay attention to everything about him. When he accidentally sees him making out with his girlfriend, the Poet notices an air of nostalgia around the Boy, which arouses his curiosity. He is surprised to discover that the tender young man at day is something completely different at night: a wounded beast who keeps people out while he licks his wounds alone. Eventually, the young man opens up to the Poet.

The Poet then discovers that the young man is hiding his broken heart because of his broken family. His father in bed and unable to work due to long-term illness, he has only his mother left to depend on. What the two men experience together becomes a secret memory they will share forever.
