Watch Innocent on GagaOOLala!
BL has become a global phenomenon. Besides Japan, its birthplace, Thailand is not so far behind with titles such as Love by Chance and 2Moons2. Korea and their Where Your Eyes Linger and Mr. Heart are international favorites; China has Addicted. And now, Taiwan is coming in hot with its own Taiwanese culture/dual personality themed BL drama, Innocent.

Innocent borrows a line from the classic Edward Scissorhands, “I love you not for who you are, but for who I am with you”, saying that regardless of looks, ethnicity or gender, the beauty and grace of love lies in whether or not you can be yourself in front of your loved one. The story follows Zheng Yu-shi, who has dissociative identity disorder due to childhood trauma. As the vivacious Zheng Yu-shi enchants Wu-Zheng with his jubilance, the gloomy Noah, Zheng Yu-shi’s “flipside persona”, seems wary and reserved. Provoked, Wu-zheng then embarks on a campaign to win Noah over by making fall in love with him with his honesty.

Blake Chang who plays Wu-zheng is a Taiwanese actor who has been the body double for Chris Wu and Kenji Wu. He has a personal YouTube channel, speaks fluent Taiwanese, and has even collaborated with a popular Taiwanese YouTuber “TanFan Prank”, – all of these qualities make him a perfect casting choice for his character Wu-zheng, who starts out as a typical Taiwanese boy extroverted and straight. On the other hand, all of the scenes in Innocent are shot in Taiwan. With familiar streets and traditional Chinese temples, Taiwanese people watching the show will easily find it immersive as if the story were happening just outside their windows. What’s more is that there is an abundance of Blake Chang being nude. His swarthy skin and dreamy body paired with his gorgeous facial features are sure to have fans trembling waist down.

After a year of preparation, Innocent released its poster and stills on May 20. A teaser was released both on YouTube and GagaOOLala on September 19. The series itself is scheduled to commence production at the end of 2020. The team is based solely on their love for BL and are looking to turn a new page for Taiwanese boys' love.
